Start the summer off on the right foot, by signing up for an irrigation check-up. As community members, we rely on you to help Make Every Drop Count. Your conservation efforts are critical because, in our community, between 60-70% of our annual water use is for irrigation! That means most of the water we pump, treat and move through our system is used for irrigation. We need your help to protect our most precious resource: water.
Irrigation Check-Up program
The good news is that a lot of water can be conserved by ensuring that your irrigation system is in good working order and that your controller is set to meet the needs of your specific landscape and the community watering schedule. To help customers get their irrigation in order before summer, the Texas Water Company is launching a FREE Irrigation Check-Up Program!
A myriad of reasons causes high outdoor water use in our community. In many new homes, landscapers set up irrigation system timers to water daily to establish new yards. Usually, it only takes two weeks of daily watering to establish a new yard; however, landscapers frequently need to return to adjust irrigation systems. In more established neighborhoods, irrigation systems need replacements over time as some parts age and lose efficiency, whether new to the community or not. Regular maintenance of your irrigation system is essential.
What’s Included:
The Irrigation Check-Up Program is a one-on-one educational program by a Conservation Investigator. The investigator will evaluate your irrigation system to identify any broken, misaligned, leaking heads, incorrect controller settings that may cause overwatering of your specific landscape, and other system inefficiencies. The Investigator will provide feedback on improving any problems identified in your system. By making some changes, you can help conserve our community’s water and may be able to lower your bill. Remember, irrigation systems, new and old require maintenance!
To sign up for the program, fill out the following form:https://bit.ly/45BlMjQ.
When signing up, please include all days and times that work for you. The Conservation Investigator will contact you to confirm the appointment and provide any additional information you need before the irrigation checkup.
Whether you participate or not, please check out our https://www.txwaterco.com/water-conservation/drought-management to review the community-watering schedule and your designated watering days. On this page, you can also find additional ways to conserve and landscape design resources specific to the Texas Hill Country. The watering schedule is designed with both customers' needs in mind and regional approaches to the sustainable management of our water resources. We have worked to align the schedule as reasonably as possible with the watering schedules of neighboring utilities while still considering your water needs.
