Summit Estates at Fischer – Texas Water Company Project Clarification
We would like to provide clarification regarding recent community discussions about the water service at Summit Estates at Fischer. This effort is not a well-acquisition project. TWC currently owns and operates two existing wells and a water treatment facility within Summit Estates at Fischer. Being the successor-in-interest to the original developer and water utility provider, TWC maintains the associated rights and responsibilities for providing water service to the community. The current effort involves acquiring the land where existing infrastructure is already located, along with modernizing and improving facilities that serve existing customers within the subdivision. The project is not intended to serve the Broken Cedar development or other unrelated subdivisions.
Purpose of the Project
The existing water treatment plant is aging, needs updates and repairs to ensure TWC continues to serve customers with reliable, high-quality water, and the plant is no longer sufficient to consistently treat water. To address operational challenges and continue to meet our commitments to existing customers, TWC is planning to construct a replacement treatment facility that would include a new tank and associated improvements. Following completion of this project, portions of the existing infrastructure will be retired. Our goal is to improve water quality, system reliability, and overall service for current residents.
TWC’s objective is to:
- Replace outdated infrastructure.
- Improve overall service consistency and system reliability for residents.
- Continue providing safe and dependable service to existing Summit Estates residents.
TWC has consistently communicated that this project is focused on maintaining and improving service for existing customers, not expanding service to new developments. The purpose of the project is to replace aging infrastructure and ensure reliable, high-quality water service for existing customers.
Engagement with the HOA and Community
TWC has made extensive good-faith efforts to communicate and collaborate with the HOA, including:
- Multiple meetings with HOA representatives and legal counsel.
- Sharing conceptual plans and project information early in the process.
- Providing documentation related to existing easements and infrastructure.
- Offering aesthetic considerations, including screening walls and design accommodations.
- Engaging a third-party engineering consultant to present technical information regarding system needs.
- Providing follow-up materials and responding to inquiries.
TWC remains committed to maintaining open lines of communication and continuing to have a constructive dialogue.
Clarification Regarding Recent Social Media Claims
TWC is aware of recent public statements and social media activity related to this project, and we want to provide clarity and accuracy on these.
- The focus is solely on upgrading and improving existing infrastructure serving the community.
- The project does not involve acquiring a neighborhood well for expanded commercial production.
- The project does not include new wells or increased well production.
