Texas Water Company does not perform Fire Flow Tests; however, a Texas Water Company representative must be present to witness any Fire Flow Test conducted on our system.
To begin the process, all parties involved in the Fire Flow Test must complete and sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Internal system maps cannot be released until the NDA is fully executed, and no part of the Fire Flow Test process can move forward until this requirement has been met.
Step 1: Submit a Request
Submit your Fire Flow Test request by emailing: newservice@txwaterco.com
Please include the project address and any available project details.
Step 2: NDA Execution (Required)
A signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is required from all participants involved in the Fire Flow Test, including requestors, consultants, contractors, fire protection companies, and any other parties requiring access to system information.
Important: The Fire Flow Test process cannot proceed until all required NDA documentation has been received and approved.
Step 3: GIS Map Request
Once all NDA requirements have been satisfied, Texas Water Company will request the necessary internal GIS maps.
Please allow 7-10 business days for the GIS team to prepare and provide the maps.
Step 4: Hydrant Selection
After receiving the GIS maps, the requesting party or Fire Protection Company must review the information and identify the hydrant(s) proposed for testing.
The marked map should then be returned to Texas Water Company for review.
Step 5: Engineering Review
Texas Water Company will review the proposed test location and determine whether the requested Fire Flow Test can be accommodated based on system conditions and operational requirements.
Step 6: Scheduling the Test
If the test is approved, you will be provided with scheduling information for a Texas Water Company representative to witness the test.
A Fire Flow Test may not be conducted without Texas Water Company's attendance and approval.
