Current Drought Stage 3
Responsible use of this precious resource is a crucial part of how we protect our limited water supply. The watering schedules outlined in our State-approved Drought Contingency Plan promote efficient use for landscape irrigation. This schedule, along with other vital elements of the Plan, is designed to help work toward state and regional goals established by the Texas Water Development Board.
STAGE 3 – SEVERE CONDITIONS
Reduce landscape watering for residential and commercial properties irrigation with a sprinkler or irrigation system to once a week according to the following schedule.
Customers must do all landscape watering and irrigation, including drip, soaker hose, and hand watering, either between 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. or 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., following the once-weekly Stage 2 schedule.
Levels of Restriction by Stage
The Drought Contingency Plan notes that weather condition thresholds typically dictate drought stages. These thresholds reflect the degree of drought and its impact on the water supply. The Plan also covers emergencies unrelated to drought therefore, all customers should adhere to the year-round watering schedule when we are not in a stage.
